The 4th international conference of Shams and Mevlana
Introduction
Literature and art's celebrated figures are priceless assets of each country, reviewing whose master pieces is what keeps culture dynamic. To this end, Shams Tabrizi Institute holds annual conferences, formerly named “Shams” and later “Shams and Mulana” since 2015; and after signing a memorandum of understanding with the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies in 2017, a secretariat for holding that conference is established in the Institute. A summary of last conferences is presented below:
First conference was held in September 2015 and began with a message from Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli; Lecturers included masters and adepts such as Nasrollah Purjavadi, Naser mahdavi, Karim Zamani. The honored guest of this conference was Mr. Ali Janati, minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of that time. Moreover, out of 216 articles which were sent to this seminar, the best 8 articles were selected to have been issued in the conferences’s proceedings.
Second conference was held in September 2016, began with a message from Ayatollah Ha’eri Shirazi; Lecturers included masters and adepts such as Mostafa Malekian, Masumeh Madankan, IrajShahbazi, Adnan Kara from Turkey, Tahsin Faraghi from Pakistan. The honorarry guests of this conference were Aref Hussein, head of ECO cultural institute, Asin Chalabi, a descendant of Mulana, Adnan Kara Esmael Oglu and Yasmin Ak Kush, as University professors in Turkey. In the end, out of 200 articles which were sent to this conference, the best 8 articles were selected and presented in the form of lectures.
Third conference was held in September 2017 with the cooperation of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies and began with a message from Ayatollah Hassan Rohani, the reverend president. The honorary guests of this conference were Ashraf Sadat Borojerdi, Prime Minister Deputy and head of the Iraninan National Library and Documents, Mr. Amiri (Ph.D.) Prime Minister Deputy for Parliament Affairs, Sa’dollah Nasiri Gheidari (Ph.D.), Secretary-General of UNESCO National Commission, Hosseinali Ghobadi, President of the Institute for humanities and Cultural Studies. At the end of the conferennce, out of 200 articles which were sent to this scientific event, the best 8 articles were selected and presented in form of lectures. Other guests included Nowruz missioners of Turkey and Pakistan and Alireza Delkhosh (Ph.D.), deputy of Iran’s ambassador in Turkey. Out of approximately 100 articles which were sent to this conference, the best 13 articles were selected to be presented as lectures and 18 articles were selected to be issued in the conferences’s proceedings.
Fourth conference of “Shams and Mulana” will be held in August 2018 with the cooperation of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies.
