Visiting faculty members of the Institute and the Russian delegation

On Sunday, 6th October, the Russian delegation met with faculty members of the Institute in the morning program.

During the meeting, Dr. Shokouh Sadat Hosseini, Director of the International office for Scientific Collaboration, presented a brief report on the basics of planning for the Iranian studies Workshop and gave an overview of the early days of the workshop. Then, each of the Russian guests and Iranian member introduced his or her own research and teaching fields at the meeting, whose fields and research programs were close to the subject matter, were interviewed. Among those present at the meeting were Dr. Nahid Maid Hekmat (Sociology), Dr. Jasenat Salibi (Social Psychology), Dr. Hossein Safi (Narrator and Discourse Specialist), Dr. Maryam Sanepour, (Philosophy and Islamic Wisdom), Dr. Taherekh Kamali (Philosophy of Illumination), Dr. Nayere Dalir (Iranian History), Dr. Faezeh Tavakoli (Oral History), Dr. Mahsa Weissi (Archeology), Dr. Ramadan Rezaei (Arabic Literature) and Dr. Hamid Sajadi (Political Sociology).

At the end of the meeting some Iranian professors donated their books to Russian teachers.

 

 

 

Western view of Islamic philosophy

Afternoon the Iranian Studies Workshop was devoted to Westerners’ view to Iranian Islamic philosophies (12th-20th centuries) by teaching of Dr. Karim Mojtahedi.

Dr. Mojtahedi introduced and explained the views of Western philosophers who have researched Islamic philosophy and Iranian philosophers in the historical division of Western philosophical studies.

At the end of the meeting Dr. Mojtahedi answered the questions.

A time with Iranian calligraphy

Iranian Studies on Sunday evening, continued with calligraphy workshop by Esrafil Shirchi, and our guests in an atmosphere full of poetry and intelligence watched drill of our instructor.

After a brief reference to the history and types of Persian script, Shirchi wrote names of Russian guests in his album of works and gifted to them.
