Academic fields and related faculties
The first offered courses was at the Master level in the fields of Persian Language and Literature, History of Iran in the Islamic Period, Linguistics, and Ancient Culture and Languages. In 1997, by establishing the field of Political Science, the admissions in the PhD courses began. Since then, in accordance with the needs of the society, the institute has attempted to recruit students; and at present, the institute has continued to recruit students of PhD in 10 fields. These fields include: Ancient Languages of Iran; Political Science; Linguistics; Persian Language and Literature; Philosophy of Science and Technology; The History of Science in the Islamic Period; History of Iran after Islam; Transcendent Theosophy (or al-hikmat al-muta’āliyah); Philosophy of Religion; and Sociology of Iran's Social Issues.
