About Us
History
Based on the recent approval of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies, the Islamic Revolution faculty was formed by abstracting from the faculty of Political Thought, Revolution and Islamic Civilization, so it can be considered as an outgrowth of the groups and faculties that have been active over the years of IHCS in the field of the political studies. In 1995 the first political studies group of IHCS named "Political Studies in Islam" was formed under the management of Mr. Dr. Reza Davari Ardakani, and after then, with the official permission of the Ministry of Science at the time, it accepted students for the doctoral level. 12 years later, the group was transformed into faculty of political.
In 2012 due to the non-approval of some groups and faculties of IHCS, a specialized group was appointed by the board of trustees to design the internal structure of IHCS in a specialized way. With the decision of this group, the faculty of Political Science was merged with the faculty of Revolution and Islamic Civilization, and after the final approval by the Development Council and its announcement, the head of IHCS in 2013 appointed Dr. Najafi as the head of the new faculty with the title " Political thought, revolution and Islamic civilization", and finally, due to the need for specialized and in-depth research and study, student training, as well as attracting new forces in the field of Islamic Revolution Studies, the faculty of Islamic Revolution started its activity independently.
Objectives
- The most important objectives of the faculty are:
- The fundamental researches in the field of theoretical foundations of revolutions.
- Genealogical and future research about the Islamic revolution with the philosophical, historical and sociological approaches.
- The focusing on studying and researching the most important ideas and ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the issues facing it, such as the issue of justice, Iranian-Islamic identity, the relationship between the humanities and the Islamic Revolution, and finally the issue of culture.

The following set of actions can be achieved in the short, medium and long term;
- The employing of researchers in 3 groups of theorizing the Islamic Revolution, strategic studies of the Islamic Revolution and political thought of the Islamic Revolution
- The holding specialized summits on the theoretical foundations of revolution studies, Iran and Islamic revolution, humanities and Islamic revolution, Islamic revolution and cultural issues such as women, national identity.
- The organizing critical scientific summits with the topics of criticism and opinion about the thinkers of the history of Iran and Islam before and after the Islamic revolution, contemporary intellectual currents, important and effective writings and texts in the thought of Iranians.
- The holding an annual national conference on the topic of Islamic revolution, national identity and humanities.
- The conducting a doctorate course in revolutionary studies and training of the expert personnel.
- The starting a specialized scientific journal in the field of activities of the faculty
- The formation of specialized tables in the field of justice studies, the issue of culture, identity studies and humanities and examining their relationship with the Islamic Revolution.
- The transforming specialized explanatory research about the Islamic Revolution into cultural products such as books, notebooks, digital content and content that can be offered on social media platforms.
