About Us
History
Research Group of Contemporary Intercultural Studies was established in 2020 with the aim of the conducting theoretical-philosophical research on culture to pave the way for dialogue with other cultures about the common issues of the contemporary world. This Group has three departments namely the Philosophy of Culture, the Inter-Cultural Studies and the Iranian Culture.
Objectives
- The Studying theoretical- philosophical issues in the field of the culture in the light of the achievements of the humanities;
- The Studying cultures with inter-cultural orientation;
- The analyzing and studying the global cultural issues, specifically the Iranian society;
- The studying the ongoing processes in the contemporary culture and their future with special focus on the Iranian-Islamic culture;
- The following the cultural studies of researchers of other cultures and the observing the experience of other cultures in encountering with similar or shared cultural issues;
- The studying philosophical- theoretical researches on the methods of inter-cultural studies;
- The studying the foundations and origins of ‘‘discourse’’ with the focus on the philosophical thoughts and the achievements of humanities.
Scientific, Research and Educational Activities
- The conducting 15 research projects in the fields of cultural and inter-cultural studies;
- The holding 5 educational workshops in the field of theoretical studies of the culture and inter-cultural philosophy;
- The holding specialized sessions with regard to the current issues and concerns in Iran;
- The holding specialized sessions of the ‘‘Iranian experience of inter-cultural life’’;
- The holding and participating in international conferences;
- The interaction with famous international figures in the field of inter-cultural studies.
