Department of Philosophy, Theology and Islamic Mysticism is formed in order to tries to deepen and expand knowledge of philosophical, theological and mystical order and opening horizons for innovative scientific and methodical approach. Backed by lofty intellectual and spiritual heritage of Islam and with the benefit of scholarly and modern university and seminary professors and researchers, it is trying to address this important issue.

 

Aims of this group:

  • Study and research in the fields of philosophy, theology and mysticism in general and philosophy, theology and Islamic mysticism in particular

  • Paving the way to strengthen and expand scientific and research activities in the fields of philosophy, theology and mysticism

  • Theorizing and generate new and efficient ideas in the areas of philosophy, theology and Islamic Mysticism

  • Comparative study between philosophy, theology and Islamic Sufism with other legal, theological and mystical systems

  • Comprehensive and systematic effort to organize legal thought, theological and mystical order of increasing opportunity to take advantage of its strengths and capacities

  • Take advantage of the strengths and capacities of wisdom, theology and Islamic mysticism to solve the problems of theoretical and practical challenges in today's world, using modern and impressive language and literature

  • Introduction and dissemination of valuable achievements in legal heritage, language and Islamic Sufism in Iran

  • Rational defense of philosophy, theology and Islamic mysticism and respond to the criticisms and ambiguities in this regard

Department of Philosophy, Theology and Islamic Mysticism  with these subtypes:


1.Qur'anic Studies, Islamic Philosophy and Theology (director :Dr. GHolamhossein  Khedry)

2. Studies of Islamic mysticism and Sufism and Religious Studies (Head of the Department: Dr.Hadi Vakili)
